Thinking about nearshoring? A look behind the scenes
Maybe your company has been thinking for a while about outsourcing data processing or the back office, but outsourcing is too hands-off for you. Or your company may perhaps want to outsource its activities somewhere else in Europe (nearshoring) rather than further afield in e.g. Asia.
We are noticing that increasing numbers of companies are choosing outsourcing as a way of ensuring business continuity and saving both time and money. In some cases, to limit geopolitical risks, they therefore elect to outsource their work to a low-wage country within the European Union instead of Asia.
Near-shore outsourcing: how do we work?
To give you a bit of an idea about exactly how we provide outsourcing (nearshoring in particular), this blog item is going to take you to Romania. That’s because it’s where we have our three shared service centres, where our remote team of over 350 staff are busy working for our clients every day from various offices – two in Galati and one in Tecuci.
Galati is also the home base of the renowned Damen Shipyards, one of Damen’s larger shipyards with around 5,000 employees. We set up business there in particular because it is a university city of 300,000 people, as well as being where one of the founders of DataMondial hails from. We’ve been able to find plenty of young, highly educated and talented individuals in this city who are well-motivated to come and work for us.
Remote back office for logistics
Our departments are strictly organized for the tasks and the clients so that the people who work there are fully up to speed with all the ins and outs of the specific tasks and clients. Over a hundred of our people take a great deal of work off logistical service providers’ hands in aspects such as forwarding, transport, warehousing, shipping and finance. These can be whatever kind of work is needed relating to order processing, mailbox management, document management, track & trace, invoices, rates, sales support and reporting. They process all the logistics documentation in line with the timeframes agreed with the client in an SLA.
Invoice and order processing
Our invoicing and order processing department receives batches of invoices and orders every day from various clients totalling 100,000 or more documents – and it will all be neatly processed by the end of the day. Some clients want the invoices and orders to be dealt with in real time: the moment an invoice or order comes in, our remote team will pick it up so that it gets processed and returned to the client as quickly as possible.
Supervisors as the central point of contact
Our supervisors have an important role within the organization. They are not only responsible for the nitty-gritty of keeping the team running but are also the point of contact for the client. We do our very best to make sure the clients get the feeling that they’re working with a trusted colleague who just happens to be on the other side of Europe. They have a wealth of experience that helps: nothing is just done as mechanical routine – they ask the right questions and proactively help think things through so that everything can be organized as well as possible for the client.
Near-shore outsourcing for almost all sectors
Our remote team can assist with numerous business processes in almost every sector. As touched upon above, we do a great deal for the transport, logistics and shipping sectors and that’s backed up by work for financials (insurers, banks), IT, tech and fintech, wholesalers and purchasing organizations, retailers and webshops.
It should be clear by now: DataMondial is the perfect partner for near-shore outsourcing. There’s nothing impersonal and detached about it: our colleagues in Romania are proactive, dedicated people who can take a wide variety of administrative activities, data entry tasks and operational back-office processes off your hands and who will do their utmost to provide top-quality service for our clients.
And don’t forget: we are ISO 27001 certified and GDPR-compliant.
